The branches of a tree lying in close proximity to live electrical wires adjacent to Almeida High School in the vicinity of old bus-stand in Ponda need to be chopped.
With strong winds, there is every possibility of a short circuit taking place thereby resulting in adverse consequences including loss of life and property. As on Friday, the situation was found to be the same.
It is absolutely necessary that safety is assured, especially of the school students, at the earliest. The higher officials at the Electricity Department in Ponda should take a note of this existing dangerous situation.
Prompt favourable action should be initiated in chopping the branches touching the live electrical wires so that permanent relief is assured to one and all.
Immediate positive action would indeed be appreciated.
