Siolim Sodiem Sports defeated Sai Avtar Anjuna Sports Club 6-5 in F&C soccer tournament at Saligao Sporting ground, organised by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, Saligao at Saligao on Saturday. There was no score at the break.
In the second half, however, the teams played attacking football. Rogan Fernandes of Siolim Sodiem sent a through pass to Resil. However, a penalty kick was awarded to Siolim as Sai Avtar defender Joseph tripped Resil and Mahendra made it 1-0 for Siolim. Anjuna was quick to equalise off a corner kick which was headed in by Syed Korgaonkar.
At the end of the regulation time the match ended in a 1-1 draw. In the ensuing tie-breaker Mahendra, Roger Kashinath, Anthony and Nilesh converted for Siolim while Vinayak, Shekar, Stanley and Malcom scored for Sai Anjuna
