PANJIM: The formalin in fish controversy has now reached the High Court of Bombay at Goa with a local seeking judicial inquiry into the incident which unfolded on July 12.
In the petition filed on Monday, petitioner Shivraj Kamat Tarcar has also sought ban on the fish imports till the Food & Drugs Administration in the State is equipped with facilities to ensure fish sold in Goa is not laced with chemicals.
As per information shared with the media, Tarcar has ‘prayed for judicial inquiry and banning fish imports till FDA is equipped with better facilities for fish testing as well as making it mandatory the testing of fish before being sold.’
The matter is likely to be heard this week.
