PERNEM: Pernem Taluka on Tuesday reported 19 new cases including a family of nine members from Arambol.

Twelve cases were detected in Armabol which includes a family of nine members which are immediate contacts of earlier infected person.
Along with this family, three more persons have also tested positive for COVID in Arambol.
Meanwhile, two foreign tourists had tested positive for the virus in Armabol on Monday. However, since the local panchayat and villagers are unaware of the whereabouts of these two foreigners, it has created panic amongst the villagers since tracing the people whom these two foreigners have come in contact have become difficult.
Single cases were also detected at Virnoda, Mandrem, Allorna, Hasapur, Dhargal and two cases in Ugvem with the tally of 421 cases in Pernem Taluka till date.
The number of corona cases is on the rise in Pernem Taluka. However, the indoor stadium, at Sawalwada, which is already being handed over to Health Department, to convert it into COVID Centre and make it functional is also being delayed.
