NEW DELHI: A special train will ply from Vasco on September 6 at 2.15 pm for Vailankanni for the benefit of Catholics wanting to go on pilgrimage to the renowned 16th century Roman Catholic shrine and attend the mass and the feast there on September 8.
Goa Congress MP Francisco Sardinha told Herald that he got the special train sanctioned by the railway minister for the benefit of Goans who are otherwise unable to attend the feast for want of travel facilities. Since the weekly train plies on Mondays, it would not serve the purpose as pilgrims would not reach the venue in time for the feast. Sardinha said people can now make their reservation
The special train will reach Vailankanni on September 7 while its return journey will be on September 8 at 6.30 pm, added Francisco Sardinha.
