A 22-year-old ITI student died while a girl from Curchorem was seriously injured after a huge boulder came crashing down on them at Chandreshwar Parvat, Quepem, on Tuesday morning.
According to sources, Tushar Raut of Housing Board, Davorlim-Margao along with the girl went to Chandreshwar Parvat on Tuesday morning. However, while they were sitting under a tree, a huge boulder came crashing towards them. Raut died on the spot, while the girl suffered severe injuries to her leg.
Sources further informed that the girl fell unconscious for a while due to the injuries and after regaining consciousness at about 1.30 pm, she called up Quepem police.
Quepem police along with the 108 Ambulance rushed to the site. Fire Brigade personnel later retrieved the body, which was trapped under the boulder. The girl was admitted in GMC Hospital at Bambolim. Quepem police are investigating the case.
