Bird’s eye view

When you are in the middle of a chaos you need to retreat and take a bird’s eye view to be able to sort things out.
The political shenanigans going on in the Country are, at first sight, baffling.  A deeper look into the same clarifies a lot.
First, we saw a massive propaganda drive to belittle Mahatma Gandhi, while praising his assassin. The Goa Government admitted that the October 2 holiday fiasco was an error. The Prime Minister Narandera Modi did not accompany US President Barak Obama to the Gandhi Samadhi! The idea was clear: go on speaking untruths through different mouths and through the ever obliging media and many will believe the same.
Next came the prolonged multi-pronged campaign against Mother Theresa and her works. Here too there were different forums used to ‘propagate’ the same. No doubt they managed to fool many.
In both the above cases there were partial protests with many finding the same too ridiculous to protest against.
Then, there was this propaganda that Indians invented many of the things attributed to westerners. Russia did this during the Iron Curtain, but they ran out of steam due to the sheer ridiculousness of the same.
Now we have ministers claiming that smoking causing cancer is not proven in India!
These things cannot be the acts of ignorant minds to which we tend to attribute to and hence keep quiet. The CAG has castigated the BJP government in Gujarat on its policies. The Centre wants other States to follow the Gujarat Model!! The rape of minors has gone up by a whopping 76 per cent in Gujarat but we come to know this only through the CAG!! Is this not a Police State? Where is good Governance? Beef is now being sought to be banned all over the country ‘democratically’!
There is no doubt that our more than Manmohan Singh silent PM has instructed his people that they can go about the agenda of creating a Hindutva State by claiming anything and everything they want to achieve the same and that propaganda is the means to achieve it.
Our ancestors dared to challenge foreign dictators but local Catholic ministers cannot even ask the governor to clarify her statement in the Assembly: that “attempts by any group or section to disturb the peace and tranquility by means other than democratic, shall be met with full force of law.”
The token protest of the dates of the Goa Film festival ‘after’ the start of the same is pathetic. I said it before: Goans will remember and record the turncoats. There will be no loss of memory in this time.
