Speeding car hits two-wheeler at Gogol, drags rider for 15m

The car was proceeding from the Gogol Circle when it hit the motorbike rider, identified as 26-year-old Charan from Borda.

MARGAO: A motorcycle rider was seriously injured when he was knocked down by a speeding car that then dragged him 15 metres away, at Fatorda on Monday. 

The victim has been admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, for treatment. The accident took place near Gogol Circle when the traffic signals were switched off in the afternoon.

Fatorda Police Head Constable K K Mohan said, “The car was proceeding from the Gogol Circle when it hit the motorbike rider, identified as 26-year-old Charan from Borda. The car then crashed into a parked two-wheeler on the side of the road, damaging it.”  

Fatorda Police said that they had visited the GMC to record Charan’s statement, but he was not in the condition to speak to them. 

Further investigations are in progress.
