RAIA/MAPUSA: Clube de Salgaocar were held to a goalless draw by Pax of Nagoa in the Goa Football Association’s Goa Professional League match played at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, on Sunday.
With both defences protecting their citadel, play was mostly confined to the midfield. Pax of Nagoa dominated the play in the first half missing a couple of gilt edged chances. Clube de Salgaocar were the better lot in the second half.
The poor ground conditions would also account for the cautious display by both the teams who seemed to play safe rather than risk injury to their players.
Sesa FA and Dempo SC were locked in a goalless draw in the match played at Sirsaim ground.
Both the teams knowing each others’ style of play were restricted mostly to the midfield.

Valpoi FC trounced BAFF by 4-0 margin in the GFA’s Division II League Bardez Zone match played at Duler Stadium, on Sunday.
All the goals came in the second session of play.
Zaid Khan netted a brace, while Sujeet Gaonkar and Mohammad Khan added their names to the scorer’s list.

Nauxim SC registered a well-deserved 2-0 win over Portais Sporting Club in the GFA’s Division II League Ilhas Zone match played at Taleigao ground, on Sunday.
Vishvet Palkar scored for Nauxim SC in the very first minute of play on entering the penalty box, 1-0.
Chetan Shirodkar doubled the lead with a neat placement in the 61st minute of play.
