PANJIM: Sonics and Abtruz, Ponda won their respective matches to progress into the next round of the all-Goa youth basketball tournament, underway at Youth Hostel, Mira Mar, on Monday.
In the first match of the boys section, Youth of Mira Mar went down to Sonics, Porvorim by 40 points. Steffan D’Souza scored 18 points for Sonics.
In the second match, Abtruz, Ponda got the better of St Britto High School, Mapusa by 53-27 with Manjunath playing a vital role.
On Tuesday, DR 23, Mapusa will take on Don Bosco, Panjim, at 3 p.m.
