According to information, Mohasin Adhul Wahid Shaikh was reported missing on Wednesday evening and a police complaint was registered after a search for him proved futile.
“The boy was missing since Wednesday evening and when the family members did not find him till late in the evening, a police complaint was registered at about 12.30 am,” informed a police source.
The boy’s cousin, Karim Shaikh from Vathadev-Bicholim, registered a formal complaint with the police.
The boy’s body was found lying by the side of a compound wall at Katarwada-Bicholim on Thursday morning. Initially, it was suspected that the boy would have been murdered and a dog squad was also summoned.
However, when post-mortem was conducted at the GMC, it was revealed that the boy died due to cranio cerebral damage. Later, the police confirmed that the boy had a fatal fall from the compound wall, from where he was trying to pluck raw mangoes.
Sources informed that after the boy fell from the compound wall, he remained at the site unnoticed by anyone and thus led to his death. The police after receiving the information on Thursday rushed to the site and conducted the panchanama. The body of the deceased was handed over to relatives for final rites.
