NEP panel proposes to roll out early childhood care and education prog

PANJIM: The government-appointed State Task Force Committee on New Education policy (NEP) has proposed to roll out early childhood care and education (ECCE) programme in school Education.

The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant charged the meeting of the Task Force Committee  “Task Force Committee submitted its interim report to the Government recommending the implementation of Early Child Care Education (ECCE),” the Directorate of Information and Publicity said in a statement issued. 

The NEP has laid importance on the universalisation of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) with a 2030 target to ensure that all students entering Grade 1 are school ready. The pedagogical and curricular structure of school education has been changed to reflect the importance.

The government has decided to implement the NEP with foundation stage from the current academic year across all government schools.
