CANSAULIM: Salgaocar FC emerged State champions in the GFA U-14 League, beating Clube Sao Minguel de Taleigao 7-0 in the final, played at Cansaulim, on Monday.
Salgaocar FC attacked from the first whistle and opened the account in the second minute through Joswel Cardozo.
Four minutes later, Sherwin Abranches doubled the lead for the Greens with a long range shot from the edge of the box leaving the keeper no chance to save it.
CSM Taleigao did not let the two goals trouble them as they kept fighting with good set up plays, but the back four of Salgaocar FC stood strong. The first half ended 2-0.
On resumption, Salgaocar FC made their first substitution by bringing on Jordan Borges who took just three minutes to make it 3-0 in the 38th minute.
Celebrations did not settled down and in the 42nd minute it was Rohan Viegas making it 4-0. Rohan got his second and teams’ 5th in the 48th minute.
Rohan completed his hat-trick in style in the 53rd minute.
Substitute and local boy from Cansaulim Anwil Costa was brought into the action as he replaced Sherwin who added to the score sheet with a powerful low shot to make it 7-0.
The North Goa champs CSM Talegao were totally outplayed in the match as they failed to score a single goal.
