MARGAO: Guardian Angel Sports Club Sanvordem scored a convincing 3-1 victory over Curtorim Gymkhana to enter the quarter-finals of Agnelo Mascarenhas memorial soccer tournament organized by St Anthony Sports Club, Assolda at Assolda ground.
Guardian Angel settled quickly and before Curtorim could strike rhythm, they surged ahead in the fifth minute through winger Austern Fernandes who latched on to a long ball from the deep by Lima and shot past the onrushing rival goalkeeper.

Boosted by the early goal, Guardian Angel doubled their advantage at the quarter hour mark when striker Benny Oliveira sped past the Curtorim defenders and slotted home.
After resumption, Guardian Angel continued to torment their rivals and it did not take them long before they netted their third in the 53rd minute through the speedy winger Austern Fernandes, who completed his brace.
Curtorim did mange to reduce the margin five minutes before the final whistle through left back Savio Fernandes who headed in from close range.
