PORVORIM: A man from Cunchelim-Mapusa has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a girl.
In her complaint, the victim complained that in 2007-2008 and again on February 14, 2012, the accused Sunil Narayan Patki developed friendship and had kidnapped her without the consent of her parents from their lawful guardianship.
The accused then confined her in a hotel room when the victim was minor in age and had sexual intercourse with her after promising to marry her.
Acting on the complaint, Mapusa police arrested the accused under Sections 363 376, 342 IPC, Section 8 of Goa Children Act 2003 and Section 428 of POSCO Act.
PSI Ratnakar Kalangutkar is investigating the case.
