PONDA: Goa Dairy farmers led by Dattaprasad Savordekar have threatened to file petition in High Court if Damodar Morajkar, who is appointed as administrator by RCS further delays in taking charge of the dairy affairs at the earliest.
Savordekar said, “Following a complaint by farmers, the RCS conducted inquiry into mismanagement of Goa Dairy by appointing CA Yatish Vernekar, who had submitted his report on the irregularities in the dairy to RCS. But the RCS had failed to give his decision on disqualification of directors and MD over the mismanagement and irregularities which had forced the farmers to approach High Court.
It may be recalled that the court had then directed the RCS to give his decision regarding the mismanagement of dairy. The RCS in his decision on Aug 31, had disqualified 7 directors and had appointed administrator, directing him to place MD under suspension and terminate his services following the probe.
However, the administrator is yet to take charge of the dairy, forcing adjournment of the AGM to September 30. Farmers are concerned about Goa Dairy’s future if the administrator delays in taking charge and implement RCS order.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that MD Navso Sawanth has approached the High Court pleading to set aside RCS order directing the administrator to suspend him. The bench had refused to grant him interim relief. However, the matter will come up for hearing on Tuesday.
