MARGAO: Cidroy De Souza’s individual brilliance saw Salcete Football Club register thumping 9-0 win over 10-man CRC Chinchinim in the Goa Football Association U-16 League match played at Ambelim ground, on Saturday.
Cidroy scored a double hat-trick for the Salcete club while Tanvir Bagalkot netted a brace. Velroy Fernandes was the other scorer for the winners.
Salcete FC were technically the better among the two right from the start as they left no chance to attack and scored the first in the 19th minute when Chinchinim’s Elviston handled the ball in the box and referee made no hesitation to point to the spot and flashed straight red card to Elviston Pereira.
Cidroy stepped and coolly covered the spot kick.
Salcete FC scored their second in the 26th minute when Tanvir set up Cidroy, who rounded a rival defender before smashing past the keeper.
Salcete FC dominated and compelled Chinchinim side to remain in their own territory.
Cidroy completed his treble in the 29th minute before smashing his fourth in the 32nd minute, once again from the spot kick.
The winners led 4-0 at the breather and crossing over, Salcete FC took numerical advantage and smashed in five more goals.
Tanvir scored two while Cidroy added another two and Velroy netted the third.
Meanwhile, at Sesa ground, Sanquelim, Sesa FA registered a fluent 4-0 win over Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim.
Nishak Divakar had scored the first in the first half. Sesa FA walked out superior at the break with a goal cushion.
Crossing over, the Academy boys scored three more Tukaram Gad and Aditya Talwar. Velroy Cardozo also managed to get on to the score sheet.
