BENAULIM: Dando Boys Club Benaulim held Margao Sports Club to a 3-3 draw in the Goa Football Association (GFA) Third Division match held at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Thursday.
Samson Miranda scored in the 44th minute to give Margao SC the lead before the beather. Nelson Vaz’s 50th goal gave a coushion for the away team before Kingsleh Fernandes 51st and Maverick Correia 53rd minute goals drew level.
Veldroy Pinto was instrumental in giving the Margao side the upperhand in the 56th minute but the joy was short lived as Latif Shaikh equalised within two minutes.
Dando Boys grabbed a victory in their earlier fixture while then unprepared Margao SC suffered a huge loss in Cavelossim against the Carmona side.
However today, Margao SC had a balanced side and showed their mettle against Dando Boys who fought bravely and managed to restrict the ball in the midfield in the initial moments of the game.
Margao SC’s Samson Miranda, Francylon Barbosa and Alloyed Vaz were a constant treath to the Dando side and would’ve easily scored in the initial moments had it not been for their striker Samson who was caught in the offside trap time and again.
At the other end, Lester Fernandes was instrumental for Dando Boys in the midfield while Dinimark on the flanks and Latif Shaikh in the strike gave a tough time to the Margao side.
Elsewhere at Raia ground, Arlem Youth Association edged past SCC Loutoulim 1-0.
The match winner was scored by Jemito Pango of Arlem with a placement shot of Vicky Gaunkar connect in the 40th minute.
At Curtorim ground Sao Jose de Areal defeated Fr Agnel SC Paroda 2-0. David Colaco and Levino Valadres netted for Areal in the 54th and 89th minutes respectively.
In another match at Navelim ground, Sirvodem SC thrashed SC Davorlim 5-0.
