PANJIM: Our Lady of Socorro Parish Youth, Carmona emerged champs of the 5 a-side inter-parish youth football tournament, organised by Patrocinio Chapel Youth Benaulim.
Carmona defeated Mother of God Church, Majorda by a solitary goal.
Besides a tie breaker was organised for girls in which St Rita Maina Curtorim girls triumphed defeating Mother of God Parish youth girls Majorda.
18 teams of boys and eight teams of girls from different parishes participated in this one day tournament held at Don Bosco Animation Centre grounds, Benaulim.
Fr. Bernadino Almeida (Rector of the Don Bosco Animation Centre Benaulim) was the Chief Guest. Also present was Patrocinio Chaplain and Youth Animator Fr. Benjamin Sacrafamilia. Attractive cash prizes and trophies were awarded to the winners and runners up.
