PANJIM: With the recent fraud reported at a petrol pump in Uttar Pradesh wherein remote-controlled electronic chips were being used in fuel dispensing machines to dupe consumers, petrol pump dealers have said that no such type of activities are reported in Goa as the fuel pumps are fully computerised and automatic as compared to that of UP.
All Goa Petrol Pump Dealers Association, president said, “All petrol pumps in Goa are fully modern and tamper proof and Goa is the only State where most of the pumps have automation technology and it is easier to get caught as every fuel dispensed is recorded.”
The UP STF had raided 7 petrol pumps for allegedly using a hi-tech chip-based device to dispense lower quantities of petrol to consumers than what they paid for.
