Everybody says that “Life is not fair” because they see a child born disabled while another born very healthy. A person is born blind while another makes others blind. Life of people is filled with obstacles, miseries, depression and many other restraints. Life passes through cruel cycle.
Many believe life is a play of attitude. Our mind can be a hell or heaven according to our attitude. So, according to our way of thinking we can be unhappy and complaining despite having the best of things or can be happy and cheerful even if we have nothing. Changing our attitude is the cure for frustration. Those who do not change their attitude grow more and more frustrated. On the road of life people thrust garbage ideas into our mind and sometimes lock us to do wrong things by saying, ‘everyone is doing it; why you don’t?’ Advertising professionals create an insatiable hunger in us for things and cleverly suggest that we wouldn’t be unhappy if we do not possess their products. We should have the attitude to choose the good and fling out the bad or else would be imprisoned with wrong thoughts. In short to live a meaningful life, we need to balance our thoughts, words and actions.
Others say that life is like the farmer sowing a handful of grains and then reaping a harvest. People sow a handful of their choices and reap their character of life. They say sowing seeds of divine values and virtues in the minds of the young at a tender age is reaping its healthy fruit in the form of a happier and beautiful world in future.
I believe that life is the greatest drama on earth. If in life there is only happiness, love and bliss, the story of life would be boring. Therefore, there are certain chapters in our life-story that are filled with conflict and problems like in any novel or ‘tiatro’. Our life is a drama on the Divine stage called the Earth.
Journeying back 60 years in time, my thoughts wing back from my dead school days to my living retired life; bringing old familiar faces of friends and foes where I learnt different lessons to live one day at a time; to adapt to any condition in any situations and not desire to excel in things beyond my capacity because it lead to frustration. Yes, life taught me to be happy with what I have. Life teaches all of us lessons in different ways just to earn the Divine Oscar in Heaven for our efforts on Earth.
Life at birth begins with a wail and ends in blissful silence after a short stay of struggle of success and failures, happiness and sorrows, in this ‘vale of tears’. Life and Death are steps to reach Him. We have to accept life as His wish, and allow His will to flow because life’s mysteries cannot be fully understood.
