MARGAO: Various Comunidades across both the districts have come together to unitedly submit a joint memorandum on Monday, September 26, to the Government of Goa against the proposed amendments to the Goa Regulation of Land Development and Building Construction Act.
In preparation for this, the Goa Ganvkari Components Fellowship and other stakeholders coordinated an action plan that was executed on Sunday.
Either the president or attorney or treasurer of individual Comunidades met on Sunday morning between 10 am and 12.30 pm to sign the joint memorandum.
This was done at three meeting points, the Goa State Central Library in Panjim, the Mapusa Comunidade House and Margao’s Grace Church Hall.
Ganvkars who wished to send individual drafts also emailed their same to this group while Ganvkars also had the option of sending their emails expressing their views on the proposed amendments directly to the Chief Town Planner.
Sources informed Herald that the group received a strong response from a very large number of Comunidades and Ganvkars for the same.
It may be recalled that the Moira Comunidade had already submitted their objections last week.
