MARGAO: Crime Branch on Friday filed a detailed status report on the ongoing investigations into the Canacona building case, even as the Special Public Prosecutor Adv Rajiv Gomes said the investigating agency may call the two new directors of Ms Bharat Developers to know whereabouts of the absconding builders.
The status report handed over to Special Judge Nutan Sardesai spoke about the arrests of the two former Canacona Municipal Chief Officers, Dipak Desai and Pradip Naik by the Crime branch. The report also mentioned about the raids conducted by the investigating agency at the residences of the arrested officials and the searches carried out as part of the ongoing investigations.
When the media sought to know from the Special Public Prosecutor on the whereabouts of the builders, he said the police are on the job to trace them. Adv Gomes further said he has told the Crime branch IO to seek the help of the two new directors of Ms Bharat Developers to trace the absconding builders – Jugdeep Sehgal and Pradip Birring.
