Goa distributes Rs 982cr to 76,560 account holders under PMMY

PANJIM: The Ministry of Finance has revealed that Ministry had  disbursed Rs 982 crore among 76,560 account holders in Goa under the under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) during the Financial Year (FY)  2019-20 and FY 2020-21.

To break it down further, it was revealed that Rs 480.46 crore was disbursed to 39,040 account holders during FY 2019-20 whereas Rs 501.47 crore was disbursed to 37,520 account holders in FY 2020-21.

This data is as per the information provided by Member Lending Institutions (MLIs).  This was stated by Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Kisanrao Karad in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. 

Karad added that under PMMY, over 11.29 crore loans amounting to Rs. 6.41 lakh crore have been disbursed across the country during FY 2019-20 and FY 2020-21.  The Minister also stated that over 30 crore loans amounting to Rs.15.97 lakh crore have been sanctioned under PMMY since inception of the Scheme in April, 2015.

Under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) institutional credit up to Rs. 10 lakh is provided for entrepreneurial activities to micro/small business units by Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) viz. Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs), Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs), the Minister stated.
