PANJIM: Congress working president and MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco on Tuesday put all rumours to rest claiming that he had gone to a starred hotel to meet election strategist of the Congress and not Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis.

Clearing the air of suspicion, Lourenco said that he had gone to the hotel to have a dinner with the poll strategist working for the Congress and nothing more than that. He denied of having any discussion of any sort with Fadnavis and Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, who was also present at the hotel.
Lourenco claimed that he without wasting any further time walked out of the hotel after he saw the BJP leaders there.
“I am a loyal to the Congress and will continue to remain so,” Lourenco asserted. There is no question of me joining any political party and I want to put it at rest,” he said.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar, who was also present said that he had asked Lourenco to meet the poll strategist at the hotel.
