The rash and negligent driving puts the lives of locals to risk, they alleged.
Irate locals stopped the traffic on the main road alleging that the company was involved in illegal hill cutting and extraction of mud and the trucks were driven in rash and negligent manner.
Ponda Police rushed the spot and asked the company to stop the work to calm the locals.
Locals said a few days ago they had complained to various authorities about illegal extraction by the company, when they noticed that company was extracting mineral ore from the plot, where hill-cutting and extraction was being done.
Locals said mineral ore belonged to public and hence action should be initiated by authorities and warned if no action was taken they would block traffic again.
