ACGL launches sturdier intra-state buses

VALPOI: Automobile Corporation Goa Ltd (ACGL), Honda, Sattari launched its ‘Jupiter’ series of buses for Goa public transport/route operators.

The bus bodies are built of metal, making them stronger and safer for passengers. As Goa is located on the coast, aluminium is used for fabricating the exterior panels so that they do not rust.
ACGL senior marketing manager Maroj Pais stated that the buses, with various trim options and colour schemes, have been fully customised for intra-state operations. He added, “These buses are primarily available on LCV and ICV bus chassis of Ashok Leyland, Richer, Swaraj Mazda, Tata Motors and Mahindra. The model has a robust, tubular, strong body structure to ensure a high level of safety to the passengers and increased comfort due to minimal vibration.”
ACGL CEO and Director O V Ajay handed over the keys of the first buses to Sudesh Kalangutkar and Manohar Naik. He stated that ACGL was committed to fulfilling the local bus operators’ demand for strong, customized and quality bus bodies, with spare parts available for 10 years. He added, “The approximate delivery period for these buses is one month, and they will be handed over to the customers with the Accreditation Certificate required for registering the buses.”
