Valpoi: Around 30 women from Pali village, Valpoi led a morcha to the water supply department on wednesday, complaining they had not recived water in the ward for a month. They claimed the two water suppliers who provided water everyday had stopped supplying water. The villagers claimed one was not behaving properly with the villagers and the other demanded beer from the villagers everyday.
During the course of April, the villagers had not provided him with beer and he discontinued the suppply. Rameshwari Gaonkar, a resident of the village said “In our ward there are a total 15 houses, and in April the operator stopped supplying water. When we asked him for a reason, he said he wanted beer provided, otherwise there would be no water provided”.
Eknath Paste Assistant engineer, water supply department, Valpoi however claimed there was a misunderstanding between the operators and the villagers which will be sorted out while he visits the site.
