Lennon and McCartney may have
referred to happiness being a
warm gun, but the Herald Group
is more inclined to believing
the views of Mark Twain, who
believed, “The best way to cheer
yourself up is to try to cheer
someone else up.” In keeping with
International Day of Happiness, a
video was created by the media
group, in order to share the
message that maybe all we need
to do to make a difference in
someone’s life, is just spread a
little joy.
The video produced by HCN
and ‘Turn the Tide Foundation’
brings together various people
from several walks of life in a
series of events that eventually
comes full circle. It aims to depict
how one random act of kindness
can snowball into a butterfly
effect that, in the least expected
manner, repays itself to the
original giver.
As things stand, the video
has had a sum total of 12,902
views, 582 shares and 18,662 likes
online. It opens with the scene
of a young girl attempting to
unsuccessfully start her scooter,
before she is aided by a worker
from a nearby construction site. A
chain of events then ensues, with
the girl doing a good deed to a
man in need of transportation; eventually, the
video ends with a good deed being returned
to the same worker who initiated the series of
events.
Popular Goan singer-songwriter Varun
Carvalho worked on the title track of the video,
‘I Feel So Good’. Looking back on how his work
has helped shaped the video, he shares, “When
I wrote the song, I knew that it would connect
with everyone who heard it, because it’s just
a feel-good, happy song. The lyrics convey a
message that you can feel good all the time; it’s
entirely up to you. As a songwriter, it feels great
when your songs connect with the masses at
large, and it inspires you to write more songs
along similar lines.”
From everyday Goans to more popular
music video entrants, some of the people
featured in the clip include the likes of popular
natak personality Yeshwant Naik, and Albino
Fernandes of the iconic Pedro Fernandes music
store, who has also starred in the video of the
Grammy Award winning song ‘The Cave’ by
British folk band Mumford and Sons.
