Seven hurt in bus mishap

Seven persons were injured, three of them seriously, when a passenger bus turned turtle at Karapur-Sanquelim on Monday at about 5.45 pm.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a bus (GA-01-Z-6033), proceeding from Ponda to Bicholim, turned turtle near Happy Home, Karapur, after the bus driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn.
Driver Bablo Chari (28) of Uguem-Pernem, Prashant Kashinath Naik (17) of Sonal-Valpoi and Sachin Sadanand Naik (17) of Arova-Pernem were seriously injured, while Pramila Prakash Kumbhar (23), Sarita Haldankar, Disha Haldankar, Anusaya Phadte, all from Bicholim sustained minor injuries. The seriously injured passengers were first rushed to PHC Bicholim and were later shifted to GMC in Bambolim. Hawaldar Uday Umarye is investigating the case.
