PONDA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday inspected COVID 19 facilities at Sub-District Hospital at Ponda.
CM discussed the issues related to COVID management and reviewed the stock of oxygen cylinders and medicines for COVID patients. Medical Superintendent Dr Vikas Kuvelkar accompanied the chief minister during his visit. He appreciated Dr Sujata Prabudesai, nurses and staff for providing the best COVID management at the hospital.

“Government has taken all steps to contain COVID cases and individual efforts such as social distancing needs to be strictly followed by people without which it is difficult to contain COVID cases,” CM said to the media
He regretted that when curfew is imposed, people are just moving out of their homes and crowding to purchase fish. “At this time, we need to save our lives. Nothing will happen if we don’t eat fish for few days,” he said.
He urged the COVID patients to approach doctors at Step up hospitals before their health condition worsens.
“Government is likely to increase COVID bed capacity at the Sub District Hospital,” he said. Appreciating the doctors, he said there is better recovery rate among COVID patients who are discharged and people are lauding the doctors.
