PANJIM: To ensure, review meetings with various departments, do not convert into a ritual without concrete outcomes, State’s new Chief Secretary is expected to take up issues pertaining to crucial requirements in three government departments, next week.

Puneet Kumar Goel in a recent note “strongly recommended” that Secretary/Senior Head of Department (HoD) of Principal Chief Engineer (PWD), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Goa Police submit their respective reports with details on improvements, reforms, pending issues, etc.
The government sources said that the departments have submitted their reports, which is likely to be discussed in yet another review meeting scheduled to be held on Monday.
Goel, who has held two review meetings since taking the charge this month, had asked the respective departments to suggest minimum five improvement/reforms for each department, five pending issues that needs to be resolved by the government, and details of IT projects under implementation in their departments either through Goa Electronics Limited, National Informatics Centre or directly through other agency, and review on Ease of Doing Business reforms pertaining to BRAP 2021 which was shared by the Director of Industries in one of these meetings.
“I would strongly recommend that each Secretary/Senior HoD holds a review meeting with their subordinates so that the status on the above points can be shared given to Under Secretary….” he said.
