My target is Asian championship: Tanisha

Tanisha Crasto, who has 200+ trophies in her shelf, is now officially India’s number one ranked player in Under 17 Girls doubles rankings released by Badminton Association of India. She has won Gold in Girls doubles at the All India Sub Junior Badminton Ranking Tournament in Hyderabad, recently. Anant Bakhale had an email exchange with the young talent

Herald: What prompted you to take up Badminton?
Tanisha Crasto: My dad used to play Badminton and I would sit and watch him play so then eventually I developed the interest in Badminton and started playing.
H: Why did you choose badminton as a career?
TC: As I started playing I enjoyed the sport and just started loving it.
H: How did you meet Aditi Bhatt? Was it a coincidence or did anyone suggest her to you for a partner?
TC: I played singles against Aditi in one of the tournaments and later she approached me asking if I could play doubles with her.
H: You have won two gold medals with Bhatt. What is the secret behind you success?
TC: We both enjoy our games and we complimented each other that is the secret of our success.
H: How do you rate yourself in the recently held All India Sub Junior Badminton Ranking Tournament in Hyderabad.
TC: My results speak for my success.
H: How many hours do you train a day?
TC: I train seven hours in a day besides I also do workouts which keeps me healthy and helps me perform better.
H: What is your next mission?
TC: I am totally focused on the Asia U-17 & U-15 Junior Championship 2018 in Mandalay, Myanmar, starting from October 3 and I am confident that my hard work & dedication will pay off. 
H: Tell us about your successful journey so far?
TC: My success began in Dubai at the age of seven where I won my first trophy. After that there was no looking back. At 14, I had 200+ trophies which I won in Bahrain, Kuwait, India and Qatar. I created history by winning the women’s singles title in the UAE Open at the age of 14. I have also won gold at the BWF International Challenge Bahrain at the age of 13 in women’s doubles.
