MARGAO: Davorlim Sporting Club outplayed Verna Sports Club 4-0 to enter the quarter-finals of the 26th Super Soccer tournament organized by United Boys of Dando, Colva, at St John the Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Friday. In the first half, Davorlim were leading 3-0.
In the first half, Davorlim took the lead in the sixth minute as Agnelo Colaco scored with a powerful strike after an assist by Clifton Rebello.
There after, Verna tried to equalize in the 11th minute but Savio Fernandes’ header was blocked by the rival custodian.
Davorlim extended their lead in the 15th minute through Joel Furtado and Agnelo Colaco made it 3-0 with a deft placement off an assist by Brian Furtado.
Crossing over, Davorlim dominated the proceedings and in the 39th minute Joe Gomes scored the fourth goal through a header.
