Colva sabha adjourned due to poor turn out

Poor turn out at Colva gram sabha forced the agitated members to force adjournment of the meeting on Sunday.
When the meeting was called to order by the Sarpanch Angela Borges, only around 12 members were present. The meeting was later adjourned for 15 minutes as per the meeting rules, but agitated gram sabha members who had turned up for the meeting demanded the adjournment as the meeting was to discuss a host of issues affecting the Panchayat body.
When contacted, Panchayat secretary said that only around 25 members turned up for the meeting.
The secretary said the gram sabha members present felt there was no point in continuing with the meeting with only a handful of members and sought for adjournment. Left with no option, the Sarpanch Angela Borges adjourned the meeting to December 12.
