VASCO: A team of officials from the Water Resources Department and Land Survey Department along with Quelossim Biodiversity Management Committee members conducted the mapping of marginal bunds and sluice gates from the khazan lands of Quelossim village.
As per the information provided by Chief of Quelossim Biodiversity Management Committee Lopinho Xavier, ground truthing of all the marginal bunds and sluice gates of the Quelossim village including the proposed Mini India Park Project in the property under survey number 170/0 which consist of six notified bunds (khazan lands) were mapped by the Water Resources Department team headed by Assistant Engineer Ajay Kudchadkar, Assistant Surveyor of Works Antonio Lucas, Junior Engineers Sudesh Paidekar and Sandesh Kavlekar and Prabhudessai and Rajesh Bhomkar from Land and Survey Department.
Quelossim village team consists of Chairperson of BMC Lopinho Xavier, Sarpanch of Quelossim Maria D’Souza, Deputy Sarpanch Sebastiao Serrao, BMC member Peter Fernandes, villager/fisherman Teodorio Fernandes, who is well versed with the locations of the sluice gates on the bunds and the different boundaries of different bunds and khazan lands.
Xavier said that Quelossim BMC is thankful to the WRD team who completed their work with dedication by facing great difficulties to walk on the slippery and marshy soil and then surveying the bunds and sluice gates by navigating in a motorboat.
