PANJIM: The Mapusa Police have arrested five persons for allegedly possessing drugs worth Rs 10 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Chandankumar Sharma, 22, Rohit Sharma, 21, Imitya Muslim Ansari, 21, all from Palamu, Jharkhand and Vijay Pradeep Volvoikar, 25, and Parshuram Shankarappa Lamani, 36, from Camurlim, Bardez.
According to police, the accused were arrested on December 12 during a raid conducted at parking lot of New KTC Bus Stand, Mapusa. During the raid, the alleged accused were caught in the possession of 10.300 kg of ganja worth Rs ten lakh which the accused had procured to deliver to their prospective customers.
A case has been registered and investigation is in progress with PSI Vishal Kuttikar under the supervision of PI Nikhil Palekar.
