Tahir grilled in Merces ex-sarpanch’s death case

PANJIM: Crime Branch (CB), probing the death of ex-sarpanch Prakash Naik, on Monday interrogated Tahir Birani one of the accused booked for abetment to suicide.

The investigation team recorded his statement as interrogation was underway for over an hour.  He was summoned based on WhatsApp messages sent by Naik wherein he alleges harassment by Tahir and Wilson Godinho, brother of Minister Mauvin Godinho. Wilson’s anticipatory bail application was rejected by the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
