PANJIM: Three vehicles were broke open on Sunday outside the Old GMC complex and several items removed by unidentified thieves, police said. However, only two victims lodged complaints as the thieves had to leave empty handed after breaking into the third car.
Vishwesh Atchyut Kamat, a resident of Merces complained to the police that a laptop, kept in his Skoda Rapid car (GA-07-K-8199) was stolen, while Nishcha Dessai from Priol-Mardol lost a West Sport laptop along with bag, Samsung mobile, ATM cards, BSNL net connector, pen drives and other belongings.
The incidents occurred between 6:30pm and 9:45pm with the thieves using the modus operandi of breaking the side window glass of the cars and lifting the belongings. The Panjim police have registered separate theft cases.
