CURTORIM: Mandopa SC got the better of Fr Agnel YC, Paroda 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Curtorim Panchayat Cup organised by Maina Sports Club, at Curtorim ground, on Friday.
It only took six minutes for Mandopa to open the account through Maxton’s long range shot.
Mandopa’s left winger Presley Gomes took control of the ball from Maxton in the 18th minute dribbled past a couple of Paroda defenders and foxed the Paroda keeper before placing the ball inside the Paroda net to double the lead.
In the 34th minute, Mandopa’s upcoming striker Aulon Gomes’ arrow bound shot hit the inside of the cross bar of Paroda and entered the net to make it 3-0.
Paroda pulled a goal back through Ashwin Fernandes’ snap shot in the 50th minute.
Mandopa SC will now meet the winners of Tilamol SC and Curtorim Gymkhana in the quarter-finals on February 24.
