Bushes near Morjim beach catch fire due to improper disposal of oil and tarballs at Temwada, Morjim. Karnataka Commercial & Industrial Corporation Pvt Ltd (KCIC Pvt Ltd) was awarded the contract by the Department of Tourism to carry out comprehensive beach cleaning services in Goa. However, Morjim locals allege that the KCIC is doing just the opposite after bushes near Morjim beach caught fire.
Locals stated that KCIC disposes oil and tarballs at Temwada, Morjim pond that connects to the beach, which lead to the fire on Thursday. Luckily, the lifeguards and the locals brought the fire under control and informed the fire and emergency services.
