SANGUEM: The newly-elected members of Curdi-Wadem panchayat led by Sarpanch Sanjog Pai have submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar over various demands of the villagers.
The memorandum highlighted various long-pending demands of Curdi villagers which have remained unfulfilled for several years, including reconstruction of the panchayat building, which was built some thirty years ago and is in bad shape and replacement of pipes used to supply drinking and agricultural water supply to the village.
It also highlighted the plight of the rehabilitated villagers who were allotted plots at Vazrem and Zanodem villages but not granted the documents, leading to hardship while applying for government subsidies.
The memorandum is signed by the sarpanch, deputy sarpanch Kushta Gaonkar and members Damacio Barretto, Janu Zore and Sanyogita Gaonkar.
, also highlights the large amount of siltation at the bhandaras supplying agricultural water in the village, which has led to the drying up of bhandaras in April and May.
