Youth drowns in Dudhsagar

COLLEM, JAN 16 A picnic ended in tragedy when a youth drowned in the Dudhsagar waterfalls at Collem on Sunday at 1.30 pm. According to Collem Police, Ambika Shripati Charan (28) from Sindi Colony in Sikhandarabad-AP and five friends, also from AP, had gone to the Dudhsagar waterfall for a picnic at around 10.30 am.

A picnic ended in tragedy when a youth drowned in the Dudhsagar waterfalls at Collem on Sunday at 1.30 pm.
According to Collem Police, Ambika Shripati Charan (28) from Sindi Colony in Sikhandarabad-AP and five friends, also from AP, had gone to the Dudhsagar waterfall for a picnic at around 10.30 am.
They all went for a swim, when Ambika was dragged into the water by a strong current. Panic-stricken friends then alerted the Collem police. Collem PI Manoj Mardolkar rushed to the site and located the body only late Sunday evening.
This is first case of drowning at the famed waterfalls since the beginning of this year.
