PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is seeking re-election for the sixth time has sought blessings from Panjimites.
“I have sought blessings of Panjimites to come out in large numbers and vote. I was never concerned about the margin of my victory but the people are coming out in large numbers and I am confident they will come and vote,” Parrikar said as he wound up his campaign.
Asked about the alliance partners coming out in his support, Parrikar replied, “I did not tell them but they offered to campaign for me. More the number of people better it is for the campaign.” He said he received tremendous support from the people of Panjim. “We had 120 interactive sittings throughout the constituency, the response was very good.”
During the interactions, Parrikar said he came across some key issues. He said garbage, traffic and parking are three issues the people are concerned about. “For traffic, I have an action plan. You have to realise the vehicle population exploded parking did not. However, the movement through the city is reduced due to the Goa University road,” he said.
