MARGAO: Former Fatorda MLA and Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Damu Naik has severely criticised the Public Works Department for not taking care of the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, with basic repairs and now the roof, tiles, electrical works are crumbling due to lack of maintenance and interest by PWD.
Damu Naik claimed that it has been three years since they have been following up the demands of basic repairs of Ravindra Bhavan and the government should now seriously look into the matter.
The former Fatorda MLA has accused the PWD of ignoring the basic infrastructure demands of the Bhavan. While addressing media on Wednesday Damu said, “There has been total failure of the PWD in maintaining the huge Ravindra Bhavan at Margao.” Damu informed that the Ravindra Bhavan has been corresponding with the PWD for getting these works done but their demands over the years have gone unheard. He says that Ravindra Bhavan neither has the funds nor the authority to do the repairs. The committee of Ravindra Bhavan has been re-constituted and will be the third to demand for basic infrastructure for Ravindra Bhavan Margao.
The people coming for tiatr, plays and other functions at the Ravindra Bhavan have been demanding the repairs of the pavers in the parking alley as they have come off and move when a bike passes over them, posing danger to the riders.
