VidyarthiVigyanManthan
is a National Level Science Talent Search Examination conducted by VigyanPrasar in association
with VidyanBharati and NCERT. It is the largest on-line examination using
digital devices such as smartphones and laptops.
For VidyarthiVigyan Manthan-2018-19,altogether 2755 students had
appearedfor the online exam from 76 High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools,
from StdVIth to XIth out which 130 students were selected for one day State
Level Camp held at VidyaPrabhodini High School Porvorim.
101 students attended this One day camp, where the students were
tested at three different kinds of examinations. The first two rankers from
eachstandard will get an opportunity to represent Goa at the National Level
Examination to be conducted at any of the national laboratory in India.
Dr. I K. Pai, Professor and Head of Dept. of Zoology, Goa
University inaugurated the camp. ManojSawaikar, Dy. Director of Education,
North Educational Zone, Mapusa, SangitaAbhyankar, National representative of
Academic Committee of VidyarthiVigyanManthan, Prof. Sameer Patil State
Co-ordinator for VVM Goa, ManoharPednekar, State Secretary for VidnyanBharati
and Shubhangi Agni exam Co-ordinator for VVM-2018-19 were present at the
occasion.
Dr. Pai highlighted the importance of Science education in the
life of student; he said that everything in the life should be checked on the
basis of scientific attitude. He also mentioned that Science should also be

During the concluding and prize distribution ceremony Dr.
Rajendra Gad, Professor and Head of Dept. of Electronics, Goa University along
with Prof. SuhasGodse, President of VidnyanBharati Goa and ManoharPednekar
secretary VidnyanBharati were present. Dr. Rajendra Gad in his speech
highlighted the importance of science education by giving the examples of
number of scientist from the modern world of science. He added that the hunger
for knowledge is essential in order to avail education, compared to the
economical or physical ability in today’s world and that students should plan
for next ten years from now as what they want to become and that they should put
their efforts in that direction, in order to succeed in their life. Prof.
SuhasGodsehighlighted the role of VidnyanBharati in conducting different
Science activities in Goa.
During this camp students also interacted with
DrVitthalTilve,Space Scientist from United States,presently in Goa.
Following Students secured the first three ranks from each
standard from VI to IX (List enclosed)
All
together 36 teachers 2 non teaching faculties and 16 student volunteers from
graduation and post-graduation, were the part of the evaluation process which
ran over the full day.
