Despite the presence of several policemen at Mandrem who were doing naka-bandi, a foreign tourist on a two-wheeler escaped from the police net. The incident was caught on camera at Mandrem on Thursday evening. The yelling by the police did not help. The tourist who was not wearing a helmet escaped from the clutches of the cops, by dodging the vehicles and the barricades at Mandrem.
SP Traffic Bossuet Silva, North Goa DySP Sidhant Shirodkar with Pernem police traffic cell conducted a surprise drive at Mandrem to crack down on traffic violations and registered 200 cases for MV Act violations. 35 foreigners were also booked while 1 was booked for drunken driving.
