MARGAO: A trial court on Monday convicted the accused Rajesh Mishra of murdering Rupesh Mishra, a native of Jharkhand.
Rajesh was convicted under section 302, while the court acquitted two other accused on benefit of doubt.
It may be recalled that on January 19, 2011, the complainant Constancio Moniz from Poreibhat, Verna in his complaint stated that a male body, aged between 30 and 35 years was found in the Verna Comunidade property. The deceased had injuries on his neck and other parts of his body.
During investigation, the deceased was identified as one Rupesh Ghanashyam Mishra (26), a native of Gumla, Jharkhand.
PI Jivba Dalvi conducted investigation and it was revealed that one Rajendra Mishra was murdered at Jharkhand and the deceased — Rupesh Mishra was the prime suspect in the murder.
Investigations further revealed that Rajesh, the brother of deceased Rajendra Mishra was working as a supervisor in a company at DC Verna. Accordingly, Rajesh was arrested for killing Rupesh. During interrogation, Rajesh confessed to killing Rupesh along with his associates — Sudershan Mishra and Pravesh Kumar, because he had suspected Rupesh’s hand in his brother’s murder in Jharkhand.
