After a long delay, the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) has finally cleared part payment of the garbage collection bill raised by the Margao Municipal Council.
Of the total Rs 13.5 lakh bill raised by the Civic body till 2008, the SGPDA has handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to the Civic body, with the assurance that the balance amount will be settled in due course of time.
MMC Chairperson Savio Coutinho informed that PDA decided to clear the amount after his meeting with SGPDA Chairman Mauvin Godinho at the recently held meeting.
Coutinho thanked the PDA Chairman for releasing the payment and hoped the Planning Authority will clear the balance amount in the near future.
