MARGAO: Margao police has achieved a breakthrough in the rape of the minor girl with the police arresting a native of Karnataka, Lucas Jacky Lobo, 28 years, who is working as a labourer in the Gandhi market.
The accused, who is charged for raping the 13-year old girl from Tamil Nadu on Sunday evening at the Sky bus platform near the Margao railway station, has been booked Section 376 and 363 IPC, Section 8(2) of Goa Children Act and Section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act.
Margao PI Naik informed that the accused during investigation admitted to having committed the crime. The accused had taken the girl from Margao market on Sunday by a rickshaw and alighted near Deccan Tyres, opposite Rajendra Prasad Stadium, Calconda from where he took the girl to the sky bus platform and allegedly raped her.
The accuse who is a lobourer and staying at Gandhi market was arrested by team led by PSI Melson Colaco and LIB staff Hawalders Subash Naik, Savlo Naik, Gorad Gawas, Sameer Nagmur and Anil Gaunkar under the supervision Margao PI Sudesh Naik.
